Davis Memorial is an established church in downtown Elkins, West Virginia. They wanted to update their website as well as create a logo that would allow them to be branded by more than just the image of their historic building. The logo is an organic design based on their beautiful stained glass windows.

First Presbyterian Church in Atmore, Alabama desired an online presence to reach more people in their community. Going from no website to a full website with both design and content was a new and iterative process. The final outcome was a much needed website and a new communications channel for an established church that is a cornerstone in the community.

They had a custom built Joomla site but the learning curb was pretty steep for Joomla and if you didn’t use it often enough you forgot how to do things.
We switched them over to WordPress and a pre-built theme then ported in their content and customized the theme to fit their needs. Using a well designed and developed pre-built theme allows us to keep the budget small but still provide premium design and functionality to our customers.

The client wished to express a clean, bold, professionalism in the site and target non-profit organizations. In my final concept I incorporated the bold gold on top of the dark blue to enable the strong contrast and let the logos symbol shine along side the CGA letters.

The logo design is based on the idea of lone sturdy tree holding firmly to a bold rock face.
